Krafton India has officially rolled out the BGMI 4.0 update, introducing a series of fresh features for players. The headline addition is Stepwell, a brand-new battleground inspired by Indian heritage. Alongside it, the update includes Ghost Gameplay, the Unfail 4v1 mode, Diwali-themed celebrations, and spooky seasonal surprises, making this one of the most content-rich updates yet.

Here are the top 5 highlights of BGMI 4.0:

1. Stepwell – India’s First Locally Designed Battleground

For the first time, BGMI introduces a Point of Interest (POI) designed in India. The Stepwell in Erangel combines cultural aesthetics with layered gameplay. Featuring vertical combat, ambush-friendly areas, and sniper vantage points, Stepwell demands tight squad coordination and tactical strategy.

2. Celebrate Diwali with Fireworks in Stepwell

From October 18 to 24, Stepwell will light up with player-triggered Diwali fireworks. Squads can celebrate mid-match while battling for control of the zone, making Stepwell both a combat hotspot and a festive hub.

3. Ghost Gameplay – Fight Beyond Elimination

BGMI 4.0 brings a supernatural twist with Ghost Gameplay. Eliminated players can return as spectral companions with active and passive abilities like healing, scanning, and defense. The new Spectral Revival mechanic ensures players can still support their squad even after being knocked out.

4. Unfail 4v1 Mode – Asymmetrical Survival Challenge

The update adds Unfail, a high-stakes 4v1 mode. Here, one stealth-powered hunter must chase down four survivors, who must escape using teamwork and strategy. This tension-filled format introduces a whole new survival combat experience.

5. Spooky Events, Seasonal Rewards & New Weapons

The Spooky Soiree events bring interactive ghosts, the eerie Wraithmoor Mansion, and even a Magic Broom mount with dash and sweeping attack skills. Players can also enjoy the Diwali Exchange Center (Oct 3–23), Weekend GRIND rewards, and new weapons like the Mortar, ensuring diverse engagements throughout the season.

Bottom Line

With Stepwell’s cultural design, festive celebrations, supernatural mechanics, and fresh combat modes, BGMI 4.0 raises the bar for mobile battle royale experiences in India.
